HISTORIA ( HISTORY )
Santiago de Cali ha sido testigo de 479 años de historia. Cálida y alegre ciudad, ofrece al visitante no pocos lugares de interés, monumentos históricos y arquitectónicos, plazas, parques y museos, iglesias, calles que nos hacen retroceder con nostalgia en el tiempo. Y cuando llega la noche con su brisa, Cali abre las puertas a la alegría contagiosa de sus centros nocturnos, donde la salsa se baila con la mayor de las destrezas. Es por esta razón que la ciudad es reconocida como la Capital Mundial de la Salsa.
A orillas del río Cali y sus alrededores se encuentran edificios y monumentos que constituyen el patrimonio histórico de la ciudad. Sus museos y teatros guardan la tradición mientras crecen en sus vegas.
Cali también es conocida por la Feria de Cali, la cual se celebra cada año del 25-31 de diciembre. Es un festival donde la música, las cabalgatas, las corridas de toros y desfiles de todo tipo unen a todo un pueblo para celebrar la rica herencia cultural de la ciudad.
Santiago de Cali has been witness to 479 years of history. A warm and lively city, it offers visitors several sites of interest, historical and architectural monuments, squares, parks, museums, churches and streets that allow us to step back in time with nostalgia. When the evening arrives, with its cool breeze, Cali opens the doors to the contagious vibrancy of its nightclubs, where salsa is danced with the greatest of skill. Because of this, Cali is known as the World Capital of Salsa.
By the shores of the Cali River and its surroundings, visitors will find buildings and monuments that constitute the city’s historical heritage. Its museums and theaters safeguard its cultural traditions as they proliferate across the Valley in which the city is located.
Cali is also known for the Cali Fair, which is celebrated every year on December 25-31. It is a festival where the music, horse parades, bullfights and spectacles of all sorts, bring together an entire people to celebrate the city’s rich cultural heritage.

El Aeropuerto Internacional Alfonso Bonilla Aragón se encuentra ubicado en la ciudad de Palmira, a 15 km (9.3 millas) del centro de Cali. International Airport Alfonso Bonilla Aragón is located in the city of Palmira, 15 km (9.3 miles) from Cali’s city center. A fare from the airport to the city oscillates between COP 50,000 and COP 60,000 (approximately $20, €16). The following hotels offer shuttle services from the airport to the hotel:

El clima de Cali es de sabana tropical. La temperatura media es de 25 °C (74.4 °F) con un mínimo promedio de 15 °C (66 °F) y un máximo promedio de 32 °C (86 °F). Las estaciones secas van de diciembre a febrero y de julio a agosto y la estación de lluvias de marzo a mayo y de septiembre a noviembre.
Teniendo en cuenta la temporada, recomendamos a nuestros invitados empacar un suéter liviano para las noches. Sugerimos traer vestimentas frescas para el día y no olvidar la protección solar.
Cali features a tropical savanna climate. The average temperature is 25 °C (77 °F) with an average low temperature of 18.5 °C (65 °F) and a high of 31 °C (88 °F). Dry seasons go from December to February and July to August, while rainy seasons go from March to May and September to November.
Considering our wedding is in October, we recommend our guests pack a warm sweater for cooler evenings. We suggest packing light clothing and not forgetting sunscreen.
